Ilagan City, 7th in over-all ranking

After 4 days of action and drama, Ilagan's maiden participation to the annual Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association (CaVRAA) meet concluded with a respectable 7th place finish.

Cagayan defended its crown of being the over-all champion. Nueva Vizacaya placed second, their best finish in the regional meet in years. Former champion Isabela only managed to place 3rd,  their worst finish in the CaVRAA meet. Tuguegarao City placed 4th, the highest among the four cities competing in the meet. Followed by the divisions of Quirino (fifth) and Santiago City (sixth).

The strong showing of the Ilagueños in its debut was lauded by other athletic delegations and sports officials in the region.

Cauayan City settled for 8th place and Batanes, 9th.

The CaVRAA 2014 closing ceremonies featured athletes, coaches and technical officials in the traditional solidarity parade and awarding of trophies.

Ilagan City has already expressed its bid to host the annual meet in 2016.
